Through the Startup Focus program, SAP provides resources and support for entrepreneurs who are creating companies and building solutions on the SAP HANA platform. Currently there are more than 1,000 startups actively participating in the program. Evangelizing a similar goal is Sramana Mitra, a Silicon Valley consultant who runs One Million by One Million (1M/1M), a global virtual incubator that aims to nurture a million entrepreneurs to reach a million dollars each in annual revenue and beyond.
SAP is offering scholarships to 12 promising startups that are part of SAP Startup Focus program and who get accepted by the 1M/1M incubator. SAP will pay for their $1,000 membership fees, in return for which 1M/1M will offer them a whole slew of valuable consulting, guidance, investor introductions and other services valued by them at over $375,000.
The journey of a startup entrepreneur can often be a lonely grind, what with trying to raise money, hiring the right team and building a compelling solution, among the many things that need to be accomplished in short order. Having access to a supportive (not to mention well connected) crew of technologists, business folks and product experts can make a vital difference in the end outcome.
That is why we encourage all of our 1,000+ startups to review the application details here and apply for the scholarship. After all, it shouldn’t take much for startup entrepreneurs to realize the tremendous value of free.
