In my last blog I presented the SAP panel of judges for the HANA Innovation Award. They are SAP employees selected to represent departments that are instrumental in driving HANA adoption.Today I am thrilled to announce the judges that have been nominated by SAP user groups in Germany, Netherlands, Spain, UK and USA.
Dr. Marco Lenck
Dr. Marco Lenck has been the chairman of DSAG since September 2012. He is also member of the DSAG-CIO-Circle. Between 2012 and 2008 he was Board Member with focus on Technology. He started his full-time role as Vice President IT at Rhein Chemie Rheinau GmbH, Mannheim in 1995. Rhein Chemie develops, produces and sells additives, specialty chemicals and service products for the rubber, lubricant and plastics industries. Since 1997 as an executive employee he is responsible for processes and applications and the global coordination of the IT, the operation of the SAP Systems in Europe, the US, China and Japan.
Rob van der Marck
Rob is Managing Director of VNSG which is the Dutch SAP User Group founded in 1988. It is the third largest SAP user group in the world. The user group office has 8 people on the payroll. They are responsible for all activities and publications within the VNSG like the annual conference, seminars, SIGs, websites, magazine, newsletter and apps. Rob has a wide knowledge of SAP. In 1997 he started as a Logistics SAP consultant for an SAP partner in the Netherlands. In 2001 he made a switch to the customer side where he was Manager of the SAP Competence Center at a media distribution company for 7 years. After a short period as independent interim manager he applied for the challenging role within the VNSG in 2009. Rob’s experience with SAP solutions and technology is mainly coming from the business or functional perspective. He is very experienced in assessing the added value of using SAP in business processes. He is familiar with ERP, BI, Portals, PI and BPM. At VNSG they just started to use the SAP HANA Cloud. Through VNSG and SUGEN (SAP User Group Executive Network) he is familiar with the complete SAP strategy. Rob studied Technical Business Administration at the University Twente. He is 44 years old. He lives in the small village Hoevelaken, is married, has three children of 17, 14 and 11 and has a passion for football, running and reading.
Xavier Escribano is the IT Business Intelligence Area Manager and leads BI projects and services at Antonio Puig. His responsibility includes managing 1200+ users in 20+ countries with reporting and analytical tools ( SAP BW, SAP BO, SAP BPC, SAP HANA ), developing data integration projects and defining in house BI strategy. Xavier has worldwide experience rolling out IT projects. His current focus is driving innovation projects and successfully led the first go-live BW on HANA project in Spain silver winner of the Iberia SAP Quality Awards 2012.Xavier has 15+ years experience with SAP technologies. He started his career as SAP Consultant and developed his career in several consultancy companies working for different customers in Spain like Gas Natural, Kraft Foods, TMB, AENA, AC Hotels.
Owen Pettiford is an experienced consultant who has been working with SAP and non-SAP systems since 1991. His experience enables him to help clients understand how to extend SAP in ways that are approved by SAP. Since 2005 Owen have worked with clients to create architectures and designs based on Service Oriented design principles. He has have completed 30+ Enterprise SAP Roadmaps for clients across 12 industry
sectors. Owen heads up CompriseIT with Dean Wood. Since 2008 CompriseIT have been building apps on top of SAP for many clients and keeping up to date with what is coming next – and helping clientsto understand this and incorporate into their landscapes. Owen is an SAP Mentor and has a degree in Computer Science. His specialities include SAP Enterprise SOA, SAP Business Suite, xApps, Composite Applications, Service Oriented Architecture, Integration, Business Process Management, Mobility, HANA, SAP HANA Cloud.
Mike O’Dell is the CIO for Raley’s Family of Fine Stores, working with the family owned, California-based grocery store chain since February 2012. He is responsible for driving technology strategy and ensuring that IT meets its mission of providing reliable systems paired with innovative, business-centric solutions. O‘Dell led the technology team through the successful launch of a lauded customer loyalty program involving several system implementations and updates to nearly 130 stores and a strongly collaborative relationship with the business units. His experience before joining Raley’s includes 13 years as the CIO of Pacific Coast Building Products, several years as the Director of Information Systems at Wacker Silicones Corporation and service in the Marine Corps.
