[Cricket Results] – Chennai’s All-Rounder Jadeja Sinks Royals

Super King’s southpaw all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja, padded Chennai’s runs total with a unbeaten innings and then scalped a pair of dangerous Royal’s batsmen Sanju Samson and Shane Watson in successive balls in his first over to fortify Chennai’s successful defense of their 140 runs total. After loading match data into SAP HANA we can create visualizations in SAP Lumira to gain insights on how Chennai collected two points.

Chennai jumped out to a quick start, scoring 51 runs in the first six overs before cooling off to finish with 140 runs for a rate of seven runs per over. The Super Kings bowlers then started with an aggressive attack taking three wickets in the first seven overs and limiting the Royals to only 44 runs in a stretch that included a maiden over from Ishwar Pandey. Jadeja cemented his stake as the Man of the Match by taking four wickets during Chennai’s attack. While the all-rounder did concede pairs of both fours and sixes that elevated his economy, his dismissing of Watson, Samson, and Smith severely crippled the Royals’ chase. By simply switching the batting team to Hyderabad and flipping the legend color to bowler name we can quickly transform our previous visualization to show us how many runs each of the six Super Kings bowlers conceded ball by ball. Jadeja’s four overs are highlighted in red.
