Sunrisers Hyderabad look to extend their winning steak to three and vault back into the top of the table when the host the defending champions, the Mumbai Indians, tonight in Rajiv Gandi Cricket Stadium. Recently the Sunrisers defeated the Daredevils in a rain shortened match decided via the Duckworth-Lewis method, while the Indians had their 10 match home winning streak snapped by Chennai. After loading ball by ball match data from this season we can utilize the blazing speed of SAP HANA to create insight-laden graphics in SAP Lumira and SAP Crystal Reports to preview tonight’s showdown.

With SAP Lumira we can create pie charts that show the percentage of the batting runs each individual batsmen has scored for the Sunrisers and the Indians. David Warner leads the Sunrisers with 242 runs and his dark peach slice below is the largest slice for any player in the match. Three Indians batsmen have scored more than 200 runs. Check out Ambati Rayudu’s 209 runs, Kieron Pollard’s 203 runs and Rohit Sharma’s 201 runs shown below in yellow, orange, and teal respectively.

By changing our pie charts to line charts and replacing batsmen runs with fours and sixes we can show the number of boundaries each batsmen has struck this season. Shhikhar Dhawan has struck 22 fours for the Sunrisers this season while Aaron Finch has knocked 20. Both clubs haven’t hit too many maximums with only David Warner for the Sunrisers and Kieron Pollard for the Indians hitting double digit sixes on the season.

The Sunrirsers’ Bhuvneshwar Kumar was honored as the Man of the Match when these sides first faced each other 12 days ago. Kumar only conceded 17 runs during the four overs he delivered for an impressive economy rate of 4.25. In SAP Crystal Reports we can build a graphic that shows the line, length and results, of the 24 balls Kumar tossed. Kumar took both of his wickets from off stump length balls and 13 of his 16 dots were from length balls.
