[Cricket Results] – Punjab Overhauls Delhi to Clinch Playoff Berth

The Kings XI Punjab clinched a playoff berth by defeating the cellar-dwelling Delhi Daredevils by four wickets at Feroz Shah Kotla. What appeared to be a clinical chase for the tournament’s most efficient overhauling force, the Kings XI sweated through a tense final over to surpass the target. By loading match data into SAP HANA we can create insight-laden visualization with SAP Lumira and SAP Crystal Reports to analyze the match.

With SAP Crystal Reports we can create a worm chart to show each team’s exact score at any point in the match and when their wickets were taken. The Kings XI started their chase off with their usually blistering pace but after losing a wicket in four consecutive overs, Punjab’s pace began to flounder until they were eventually able to add another two points to their kitty with a big final over. Punjab’s attack hindered Delhi’s total by taking five wickets in the final four overs.

As evidenced in the chart, Vohra scored his 42 runs swiftly in a 19 ball flurry of fours and sixes and finished with a strike-rate of 221.05. Patel was unbeaten and his five fours and maximum really helped to bring Punjab to the finish line.

In addition to his great innings, Patel was awarded Man of the Match honors also in account of his brilliant bowling. With SAP Crystal Reports we can show the result of each of Patel’s 24 deliveries broken down by line and length. Patel recorded 11 dots and only conceded 18 runs to finish with a match best economy of 4.50. Patel relied heavily on middle of the stump length balls and took his lone wicket with a nasty wicket-shattering spinner.
