I’m excited to announce that SAP continues to receive market leadership recognition for SAP HANA.
In our latest news, Gartner, for the 5th consecutive year, positioned SAP as a “leader” in its Magic Quadrant for Operational Database Management Systems (OPDMS). In the report, Gartner identified SAP as a Leader for its “ability to execute” and “completeness of vision.”
It’s also been a good year for continued progress in product innovation and increasing the number of customers who use SAP HANA for non-SAP workloads.
Listening to the Customers
Gartner weights customer experience as high in its “ability to execute” evaluation criteria.
Among our customers, Mercy and La Chapelle stand out for their experiences of combining transactions and analytics with SAP HANA.
”We are beginning to see a shift in the OPDMS market and the Data Management Systems for Analytics (DMSA) market toward a single ODMS for both sets of use cases.” The report notes, “It is becoming increasingly possible to use one vendor’s product for both DMSA and OPDMS needs, pushing those vendors that only fulfill one need toward the Niche Players quadrant. While there remains a need for best-of-fit solutions, the advantages of a single vendor from a cost and skills perspective many times outweigh the benefits from best-of-fit.”

Similarly, La Chapelle, a fast-growing multi-brand fashion group in China that designs, markets and sells ladies casualwear apparel, realized a set of better business outcomes after adding SAP HANA .
